Farm Forestry - Northern Inland Forestry Investment Group (NIFIG)

The Board has had a long association with developing and supporting the Forestry industry in the region. Stage one (1996-2000) and stage two (2001-2003) of the Regional Plantation Committee was funded through the Commonwealth and State. The current program was renamed the Northern Inland Forestry Investment Group, a reflection of the focus towards driving investment and opportunities for economic development through forestry in the region.

Major achievements to date have been the development of the Walcha Softwood Strategy, provision of education and training opportunities through field days and Internet tool kits to landholders, as well as the development and provision of information about the effects of new policy and legislation on the industry.
